Oldfield Brow is a Smartphone Free School from September 2026
Oldfield Brow Primary School is proud to be a Smartphone Free School from September 2026. We believe that a child’s early years are best supported through face-to-face learning, play, and meaningful interaction with family and school staff. By reducing smartphone use in school, we help create a calmer, more focused environment where children can fully engage with lessons and friendships.
For parents and carers, this approach helps reinforce healthy habits at home and supports consistent expectations across the school day. We ask that smartphones are not brought into school, or are kept switched off and out of sight where permitted, so that children can concentrate on learning and wellbeing. If you need to contact your child urgently, please use the school office, our team will ensure messages are passed on promptly.
We understand that families may have questions about safeguarding, communication, and routines. Our aim is to work together to keep children safe and supported while encouraging balanced technology use. Thank you for your cooperation in helping Oldfield Brow Primary School remain a place where children can thrive, without the distractions of smartphones.
