Data Protection (GDPR)

At Oldfield Brow Primary School, we take our responsibility to protect personal information seriously. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act set out how organisations, including schools, must collect, store and use personal data safely and lawfully.

We only collect and process personal information that is necessary to fulfil our educational, safeguarding and statutory responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that all personal data is handled securely, confidentially and in accordance with current legislation. Information is retained only for as long as it is required and is disposed of safely when no longer needed.

Protecting the privacy of our pupils, families, staff and wider school community is an important part of maintaining the trust placed in us.

Data Protection Officer

Oldfield Brow Primary School has appointed an independent Data Protection Officer (DPO) service provided by Global Policing Limited.

Global Policing is an organisation led by former senior police officers with extensive experience in data protection, information governance and supporting schools to meet their legal responsibilities.

If you have any questions about how your personal information is used, would like to make a request relating to your data, or wish to exercise any of your rights under data protection legislation, please contact the Data Protection Officer directly:

  • Telephone: 0161 212 1681 (answerphone service)
  • Email: info@globalpolicing.co.uk

Please note that if you choose to exercise your rights under data protection legislation, some basic information relating to your request may be shared with our Data Protection Officer to enable them to provide advice, support and guidance throughout the process.

Concerns or Complaints

If you have any concerns about the way in which the school collects, stores or uses personal information, we encourage you to contact us in the first instance so that we can work with you to resolve the matter.

You also have the right to raise concerns with our Data Protection Officer or to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent authority for upholding information rights and data protection.
