Oldfield Brow Primary School

Only The Very Best Will Do

Welcome To Our School

On behalf of the pupils, staff and Governing Body, it is our pleasure to welcome you to Oldfield Brow Primary School.

Oldfield Brow is truly at the heart of the community - it has been on a significant and exciting journey and school improvement is rapid. Learning is at the heart of all that we do as we strive to develop the children as active, motivated, resilient learners who thrive in a caring, supportive environment.

We are also creating and developing a curriculum that not only promotes high standards and challenges children’s thinking but a curriculum that also excites and motivates our children and teaching staff. We are striving to develop children’s knowledge and skill across all areas of the curriculum so that we nurture and grow well-rounded children who could be the mathematicians, scientists, writers or historians of the future. We want to inspire our children so that as they grow into young adults they have belief in themselves and belief in their talents too.

We also foster and nurture a community who care for one another, where kindness is promoted and respect is strong. It is our aim that we develop the whole child so that they grow to be responsible, caring individuals who achieve their potential.

Oldfield Brow is a thriving school community with committed staff, supportive parents and wonderful children.

We very much look forward to welcoming new children and families and prospective parents are actively encouraged to contact the school office and arrange a visit. This will provide you with the opportunity to see school in action.

Oldfield Brow

Dear Parents,

This is an unusual time for us all. The situation that has involved our whole country has been unprecedented and remains a challenge for everyone. On 21st May, detailed arrangements of our return to school plans have been shared within the 'What's On' section of our downlads page. There you will find much additional information too including the return to school risk-assessment.

Offers of places at school for 10th,11th,12th June have now been sent home to parents of children within EYFS. Our Key Worker provision will continue unaltered.

There are many videos that have been produced by the school that are available on YouTube for you to watch whilst we are away from school. From singing to stories, there is much to be seen. Type in 'Oldfield Brow' within the YouTube search engine to find out more.

We are delighted to know that many new children and their parents will be joining us in September 2020 within our Reception classes. We look forward to welcoming you all personally and even in these unusual times, we will be in close contact with new parents ensuring that your child's journey into Oldfield Brow is as smooth and as personalised as it should be.

Currently are asking parents to register accurately their need for school provision for next week, the first week of the Whit Holidaysweek beginning 1st June. We know that circumstances may change but if you have not done so already, please contact school using the Covid19@oldfield-brow.com email address so we know what our likely numbers are to be. We welcome fresh or renewed applications for places.

As the Whit Holidays are now upon us, the home learning features that we have been providing will be suspended for two weeks. Ideas for opportunities at home have been sent home through your child's class web page. School will continue to be open for Key Worker's children and other specific groups.

If school is not able to meet your request for a place at school, you can also contact Trafford's FAMILY INFORMATION SERVICE for further advice and suggestions. This can be found here:

The school's Behaviour Policy has been ammended and updated to state that anyone refusing to follow appropriate Health and Safety expectations will now have breached our school's Behaviour Policy.
